Singer-songwriter, CLE’PH, was born Muhammad Rashid on May 7th, 1983, in Queens, New York and grew up in Fort Green, Brooklyn. At a very young age, CLE’PH’s parents separated, leaving him with his older brother, three younger sisters, and his mother. It was during this time, that CLE’PH’s passion and love for music began to grow.

Growing up in Fort Greene, music was an escape for CLE’PH and kept him off of the streets. He attended Andre Jackson high School, where he and a few friends created a RnB singing group called, “Distinction,” where he wrote his first song, “Take It Slow.” The group performed their song at different venues around New York City, making a name for themselves.

In the early 2000’s, CLE’PH won his first singing competition as a solo artist, at Long Island University. He went on to beat out 13 other music artists with his self-written song, “I Can Treat You Better,” solidifying his spot in a music video with the Independent Music Label, Really Hot Music. In 2018, CLE’PH won his first Independent music award for R&B Artist of The Year, at the LDM Network Awards, for his hit single, “Hey, Miss Beautiful.”

CLE’PH’s hits includes the award winning song, “Hey Miss Beautiful,” “One Kiss” and “Crosswalk” which is currently playing on the radio in Atlanta, New Jersey, and New York. CLE’PH is currently working on his EP, titled, “Confidence of a Shy Guy,” ready to hit the music scene in 2019. It will bring you a brand new and sexy sound from him, with the upcoming track, “Mirrors.”

Stay tuned.
